The 2022 Tingo-NPFL Pre-season Tournament was postponed following Lagos State Gubernatorial campaign flag off on Saturday (yesterday) at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 10,000-capacity stadium brimmed with APC supporters who carried banners and chanted slogans to receive the party chieftains and members of the Governorship Council.

The Tingo-NPFL Invitational tourney was initially scheduled to hold between 1st to 4th December, 2022, a reliable source from Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa told BSN Sports that the change in date was due to the Governorship campaign flag off held on Saturday which clashed with the Match-day 3 date of the competition.

Meanwhile, the orgainser had shifted the tournament to hold from next Tuesday, 6th to 9th December, 2022 at the same venue. Four teams with historical heritage were selected by the sponsor. The four clubs are: 3SC, Enyimba International, Rangers International and Bendel Insurance. The four clubs have been mobilised with Ten Million (N10MILLION) each as the winner will receive One Hundred million (N100 million) Naira.

The tournament is put together as a test-run ahead of the 2022/23 NPFL season.
