Rivers State Government To Host Rivers United

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike will this Saturday host and honour Rivers United for their exploits in the year 2022, BSNSports.com.ng has gathered.

The 'Pride of Rivers' won the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League title for the first time in their history.

They also qualified for the CAF Champions League but failed to reach the group stage of the competition after they lost to Wydad Casablanca of Morocco.

They dropped to the Confederation Cup where they've secured their place in the group stage of the tournament. 

According to the update from the team camp, the state governor will present the award tag ' Governor's Medal Of Honour' to the team.

Rivers United will know their group opponents in the confederation cup on the 12th of December, 2022.
