Rivers State Government To Host Rivers United Thursday

Rivers State government under Governor Nyesom Wike is set to host the victorious Rivers United team on Thursday, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

The Pride of Rivers emerged champions of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League season after they garnered 77 points from 38 games.

The club Media Officer confirmed that the hosting has been fixed for the Government House on Thursday where the trophy will be presented to the Governor.

The Rivers State Government will on Thursday, July 21, host the reigning champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Rivers United FC to a grand reception.

The ceremony will take place at the Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt with the commencement time fixed for 10:00am.

Amongst other activities planned for the grand reception is the presentation of the NPFL trophy to the Executive Governor of Rivers State, HIS Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS, POS Africa.

Rivers United finished as runaway leaders of the NPFL season with 77points from 38 matches, the statement confirmed.
