The 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Rivers United secured a place in the Nigeria Premier Football League Super Six playoff following a 1-0 win against Sunshine Stars in their rescheduled fixture in Port Harcourt on Monday.

Morice Chukwu solitary winning goal three minutes before the half hour mark helped Stanley Eguma’s side moved top spot on the Group B table.

The Pride of Rivers will face Doma United in another rescheduled fixture on Wednesday.

Second-placed Lobi Stars have also qualified for the Super Six following Rivers United’s victory.

Both teams have 30 points each, but Lobi Stars have inferior goal difference.

Doma United, Sunshine Stars and Abia Warriors are in contention to secure the remaining one slot in the group.
