Rivers United Chief Coach Reportedly Departs After Contract Expiration

Evans Ogenyi has reportedly left his role as Rivers United Chief Coach following the expiration of his contract, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports, the experienced tactician would seek adventure elsewhere in the upcoming 2025/26 football season.

Ogenyi’s career spans several decades, with notable stints at top clubs in Nigeria where he led Lobi Stars to promotion from Division 2 to Division 1 in 1998 and guided Kano Pillars FC back to the NPFL in 2023.

He has held various roles, including Chief Coach and Technical Adviser, at Enyimba International FC and Nasarawa United. Ogenyi’s extensive list of achievements includes guiding Lobi Stars to the CAF Champions League quarterfinals, winning the NPFL title with the club in 2018, and securing multiple FA Cup victories.
