Rivers United Strengthens Firepower, Unveil ₦600k-A-Month Striker

Rivers United continue to bolster its attack in view to regain the Nigeria Premier League title they lost to Enyimba last season, with the unveiling of their recent signing from Bendel Insurance - Deputy Echeta.

BSNSports.com.ng can report that within the last month, the Pride of Rivers engaged the summer transfer window with a couple of signings, with the likes of former Enyimba defender Adekunle David, Yao Kouassi Bernard from TS Galaxy, and Echeta Ugonna Deputy from Bendel Insurance all making the inward move.

In a series of unveilings, Echeta, 22-years-old, is one to catch the attention, as he brings his match fitness and goal contribution to the team with new Chief Coach Evans Ogenyi at the helm of affairs.

The young forward who featured 21 times for the Benin Arsenal last season, scoring four times and assisting once, signed a two-year deal with an estimated salary of ₦600k monthly.

He joins the likes of Nwangwa Nyima and Gideon Duru who collectively produced 9 goals last season in attack to provide more lethal options going into the new season.

After completing his medicals in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Echeta resumed camp with the team on Monday the 31st of July, as Rivers United had to beat off competition from the likes of Rangers and newly promoted side Sporting Lagos to land the Onitsha-born striker.
