Rohr Reveals Why Erstwhile Sports Minister Trained With Super Eagles

Former Nigeria's Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has finally opened up on why the former Sports minister was allowed to train with the Super Eagles a few years ago, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Two years ago while the Super Eagles were preparing for the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone, the pictures of Sunday Dare surfaced on social media where he was training with the team.

The actions generated a lot of controversies then as the Super Eagles only get a draw against the Leone Stars.

Rohr who is now the coach of the Benin Republic celebrated his 70th birthday on Wednesday and spoke with the media team of his former club Bayern Munich where he opened up on certain things that he has passed through as a coach.

"Two years ago in Nigeria, suddenly he showed up for training with 40 or 50 journalists and wanted to participate. I was perplexed. 

"My assistant told me that we had to let him participate. Otherwise, we would all leave the next day", he said.
