Russia Cup: Ex-Super Eagles Winger Help Club To Title After 19 Years Of Wait

It was jubilation galore in the camp of the Russian Premier League club Spartak Moscow as they secured their first title in 19 years, BSNsports.com.ng report.


The Moscow based club tried to secure title last season but fall short and the situation led to the introduction of new players including former Nigeria's Super Eagles winger, Victor Moses, into the team.


Since joining the team permanently, Moses has been a key player for the club playing in several positions.


They squared up against city rival Dinamo Moscow on Sunday in the Cup final they were able to secure a vital 2-1 win.


With Moses playing from the right side of the midfield, Sobolev gave Spartak an early lead in the 10th minute before Zarkharyan levelled the game in the 55th minute.


Dutch international Quincy Promes netted the winning goal in the 72nd minute and handed Spartak their first title since 2003.
