Following South Africa’s 3-1 win over Zimbabwe and Rwanda’s 1-0 win at Lesotho, the Super Eagles are now four points off the top spot in Group C of the 2026 World Cup qualifying series, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Super Eagles suffered a 2-1 defeat to Benin Republic on Monday and now have only three points after four fixtures.

However, their chances of qualifying for the tournament took further blows on Tuesday as in the next nine months, Rwanda will sit top of Group C.

With the results, Rwanda, South Africa and Benin all have seven points as joint leaders. Lesotho have five points in fourth place, while Nigeria have three points in fifth place.
