Rwanda Coach Reveals What He Will Do With Super Eagles If Given Opportunity
Sampson Adedeji
The head coach of the Amavubi of Rwanda, Adel Amrouche, has revealed that his ambition with the Super Eagles of Nigeria would go far beyond mere World Cup qualification, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Speaking in an interview with journalist Osasu Obayiuwana, the experienced tactician said a team with Nigeria’s quality should be aiming for greatness on the global stage.
“If I were coaching a team like the Super Eagles, with the quality of players that they have, my target would be to reach the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup, at the very minimum. Qualifying for the World Cup should not be the issue,” Amrouche stated.
The Algerian-born coach, who has managed several African national teams, emphasized that Nigeria possesses enough talent to challenge the best nations in the world if properly managed and given the right environment to thrive.
Amrouche is currently focused on his duties with Rwanda but has continued to attract attention across the continent for his bold football philosophies and confidence in African talent.
