Rwanda Federation Meets FIFA President Ahead Of 2026 FIFA Series

The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino as part of preparations for the FIFA Series 2026, which the country has been confirmed to host, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Scheduled for the end of March 2026, the FIFA Series will see Rwanda’s Amavubi Stars take on national teams from other continents marking a historic opportunity for the East African nation to showcase its football on a global stage.

During the meeting, FERWAFA officials outlined their readiness to provide world-class facilities and logistics for the competition. Infantino, in turn, commended Rwanda for its commitment to football development and promised FIFA’s full support toward ensuring a successful event.

In addition to the tournament, Rwanda will also host FIFA referees’ courses in 2026, aimed at improving the quality of match officials across Africa and beyond.

The FIFA Series is designed to give emerging football nations a chance to face high-ranking teams, fostering growth and international exposure for players and coaches.

Rwanda’s selection as host further underlines its growing reputation as a hub for major sporting events in Africa.
