Rwanda To Host African Club Volleyball Championship

Rwanda is set to make history as it prepares to host the 47th edition of the CAVB Men’s Club Championship in 2026, marking the first time the prestigious competition will be staged in Sub-Saharan Africa, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The championship will take place in Kigali from April 20 to May 3, 2026, with top volleyball clubs from across the continent expected to converge on the Rwandan capital for the annual showpiece.

Organised by the Confederation of African Volleyball, the tournament is regarded as Africa’s premier club competition in men’s volleyball, bringing together elite teams to battle for continental supremacy.

Hosting the event is seen as another significant milestone for Rwanda, which has continued to position itself as a hub for international sporting events in recent years.

The 2026 edition promises high-level competition and an opportunity for clubs to showcase their quality on a continental stage, while also boosting Rwanda’s growing reputation in sports tourism and event organisation.

With preparations already underway, attention now turns to participating teams as they gear up for what is expected to be a highly competitive championship in Kigali.
