Sadiq Umar Opens Up On How Injury Derailed His Real Sociedad Dream

Nigerian and Valencia forward Sadiq Umar has shared how a major injury setback disrupted his aspirations with his parent club, Real Sociedad, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Umar, who made the move to Sociedad after an impressive spell with Almeria, arrived full of confidence and high expectations.
However, his promising start was cut short just days after joining the club.
"From the first day I arrived at Real Sociedad, I had high hopes," Sadiq told TVC.
"But after just five days, I tore my ACL—and everything changed." The injury sidelined him for an entire season, and upon his return, he struggled to regain his rhythm and a regular place in the team.
"I couldn’t find the continuity I needed because I had been left behind. It was also the coach’s decision, and I respected that," he explained.
"Sometimes, you find yourself in situations you can’t control. That was my reality at Real Sociedad—coming back from injury and not getting enough playing time. I had to accept it and move on."
