Sadiq Umar Rescues Point For Almeria With First La Liga Goal

Nigeria's Super Eagles striker, Sadiq Umar, rescued a point for his Spanish La Liga club UD Almeria with his first goal in the league, BSNsports.com.ng report

The former Dream Team forward netted 18 goals last season and ensured that Almeria secured promotion to the elite division.

Almeria played away to Elche on Monday in a league game and it was Umar that made all the headlines.

The Nigeria International proved too difficult to handle for the backline of the host and he was able to break the deadlock in the 23rd minute.

Alex Collado levelled the game for the host in the 30th minute and ensured that the first stanza ended in a square.

The two teams were unable to breakdown one another in the second half as Umar who suffered a head injury in the game was replaced in the 81st minute by Chumi.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw as Almeria continue to search for their stability in the season.
