Sadiq Umar Wins Almeria Players Of The Season Gong

Following his amazing performance in the just-concluded Spanish La Liga Segunda season, Super Eagles and UD Almeria forward Sadiq Umar has been named club player of the season, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

Umar joined Almeria a few seasons back after having a decent outing with the Serbian club Partizan Belgrade.

The club on Friday through its news outlet announced that Umar has been awarded the 'Gloden Shovel' of the Red and White.

If you are giving the shovel at the end of the season it means you've been awarded the club's player of the year.

"Sadiq Umar gets the golden shovel of Ajccofficial that accredits him as the best player of Red and White this season," the club said.

Umar scored 18 goals in 36 games for Almeria this season as his efforts were responsible for their promotion back to the Spanish La Liga with 81 points in 42 games.
