Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Sadiq Umar was impressive for Almeria football club on Monday night, as he guided them to a remarkable 1-0 away victory over Tenerife FC in the week 32 of the Spanish Laliga SmartBank League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The former AS Roma football club of Italy star was given another starting role by his coach, following his outstanding performance for the club in their last game where he scored a brace, and he was able to impress again.
Sadiq Umar started in the away team's attack alongside Belgium star Largie Ramazani and Francisco Portillo and the trio were superb in the entertaining game.
Sadiq Umar tried to break the deadlock in the early minutes of the first half, but his close range effort was denied by the home team's goalkeeper Juan Soriano, as the first half ended goalless.
Belgium national team star Largie Ramazani opened scoring for the away team via a beautiful spot kick in the 59th minutes to show difference from both at regulation time.
Sadiq Umar was outstanding for the away team throughout the game, the he was able to contribute his quota to the team's hard-fought victory.
The Nigerian international is now expected to join his compatriots in Abuja Camp on Tuesday, ahead of this weekend's World Cup playoff against the Black stars of Ghana.
