Samson Obi : Abia Warriors Top Striker Who Made Difference Against Tornadoes In League Opener

The start of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, started on a positive note for the Umuahia based club, Abia Warriors on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The Erasmus Onuh led side opened the league campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Niger Tornadoes, at the Umuahia Township Stadium. 

Samson Obi, who was so impressive for the host, when he came off the bench to produce an assist for John Peter, whose strike secured the Erasmus Onuh led side their first win of the season. 

Samson, the maverick forward made a dashing run from the opponents left wing and into the 18 yard box before sending a delightful cross to the on-rushing John Peter to slot home and send the spectators into frenzy in the 80th minutes.

Samson Obi played for Enyimba FC and Al-Nasr Club of Benghazi, Libya, before he returned to Abia Warriors for his second spell at the club.
