Nigeria's foremost Fan group, the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) in its ever exciting Style are bringing back Fond football memories to Nigeria as the group has Facilitated a return of the Legendary Santos Fc of Brazil to Nigeria.
It would be recalled that an unusual history was made in Nigeria during the Civil War that ravaged the country between July 6th 1967 to January 1970 but for the powers of Football, the Nigeria Civil War was suspended for Fourty Eight hours.
During a Press Parley in Lagos on Tuesday, the National chairman of the NFSC, Ambassador (Rev) Samuel ikpea said he is glad to inform Nigerians that the legendary Santos Fc of Brazil will return to Nigeria in November 2022, as arrangements has been perfected for the Famous south American side to visit Nigeria as Pakaged by the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) inconjuction with its Partners in Brazil.
" I welcome you all to this Press Parley, and am glad to inform everyone that the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) is bringing back Fond Football memories to Nigerians.
" In our ever exciting character, NFSC is facilitating a return of the legendary Santos Fc of Brazil to Nigeria again, this time without King Pele, ikpea Posited.
According to Rev Samuel ikpea, the Santos Fc delegation shall be hosted by Aare Onakakanfo, Gani Adams on the day of arrival to Nigeria, before paying a courtesy visit to his imperial Majesty, Ooni Of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi.
Other Places of visit include the Brazil consulate in Lagos, NFSC secretariat, his Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare (11) the Oba of Benin, and His Excellency the Governor of Edo state, Mr Godwin Obaseki who will be presented the newly launched Santos Fc jersey, the third in the club history since formation in 1912.
The Brazilian side is expected to play a friendly Football match in Benin city, before returning to Lagos.
" It is a twin event, the delegation from Brazil shall be in Benin city to present their newly launched jerseys to the Governor of Edo state, Mr Godwin Obaseki, it is their third ever jersey since the formation of the club in 1912.
" Santos Fc is expected to play a Friendly Football match in Benin city, were they also played in 1969 following their invitation by then military Governor of Bendel state, late Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, who declared a holiday and opened the Bridge connecting Bendel state and Biafra, which led to both side of the devide witnessing Santos Fc of Brazil 2-1 win over a Nigerian selected side and the Guns fell silent for Fourty Eight hours, Samuel ikpea stated'.
The NFSC national chairman Ambassador Rev Samuel ikpea, however used the occasion to thank Edo state Government supports for this historic event and plead for the cooperation of everyone, the press for this memorable event.
