Sao Tome And Principe Assistant Coach Tips Nigeria For 2023 AFCON Trophy

The assistant coach of the Sao Tome and Principe, William Barbosa, has tipped Nigeria's Super Eagles after Senegal to win the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Super Eagles on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo thrashed Sao Tome 6-0 with Victor Osimhen scoring a hat trick.

The coach confirmed that after Senegal, Nigeria is the best team in Africa.

"The last time we played Nigeria we couldn't have our best legs and now we are building a new team and we are working hard to train new players.

Today was better than last time and we showed that we can play as well.

Nigeria is a good team with players playing in the top leagues but we have only one player playing in the top division.

"Nigeria have some of the best players in Africa, quality players in top leagues around the world," he told at the post-match press conference.

"For now, after Senegal, Nigeria have the best team in Africa", he said.
