Saudi Clubs Continue Pursuit of Onuachu After €11M Rejected Bid

By Admin

Turkish Cup winners Trabzonspor have reportedly rejected an €11 million bid from a Saudi Arabian club for Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports from Turkish media outlet Takagazete, the Saudi club submitted a formal offer for the Super Eagles forward, but Trabzonspor deemed the proposed fee insufficient and declined to sanction the transfer.

Despite the setback, the interested club is expected to return with an improved bid as it intensifies efforts to secure the services of the experienced striker.

This is not the first time Saudi Arabian clubs have shown interest in Onuachu. During the January transfer window, Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli were also linked with the Nigerian international, with reports indicating that their approach was similarly rejected.

Onuachu has emerged as one of the most sought-after forwards in Turkish football following an outstanding 2025/26 season. The 32-year-old finished as the joint-top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig and played a crucial role in Trabzonspor’s successful campaign.

The towering striker was instrumental in the club’s Turkish Cup triumph, scoring twice in the final as Trabzonspor defeated Konyaspor to lift the trophy.

His impressive form has attracted interest from clubs across multiple leagues, but Trabzonspor appear determined to retain one of their key assets unless a substantially improved offer is presented.

With transfer speculation continuing to gather pace, attention will now turn to whether the Saudi club returns with a bid capable of convincing the Turkish side to part ways with their star forward.
