The duo of Nigeria's Super Eagles stars Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey started the game while defender Leon Balogun was introduced in the extra time.

Celtic had edged the first half of a pulsating semi-final but there was little between the teams after the break until the 64th minute when Hoops left-back, Greg Taylor, fired in from the edge of the box.

Rangers substitute, Scott Arfield levelled in the 78th minute with a fine finish to take the game to extra-time, the second time in four days for the Light Blues.

Balogun replaced Barisic before Bassey raced down in the left flank and his cross was knocked and his cross resulted in own goal by Starfelt who was under pressure from Sakala. The blue half of Hampden Park erupted as Rangers ended the game 2-1.
