Just days into the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), alarming security breaches have raised serious concerns in Kenya, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Kenya, co-hosting the tournament alongside Tanzania and Uganda, has faced mounting issues related to crowd control and general safety.

Reports from the ongoing tournament highlight several troubling incidents in Kenya, including a stampede at Gate 11, motorbikes recklessly moving through crowds, fires breaking out near Block 18, denial of VVIP access to CAF officials, and even physical assaults on CAF and sponsor staff by security personnel.

In response, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has imposed a $19,500 fine on the Kenyan Local Organizing Committee and issued a stern warning, demanding immediate improvements to security arrangements at the Kasarani Stadium.
