Senator Sani Receives Victorious John Utaka Academy
...Calls for Increase in Appropriation for Sports
Senator Sani Musa representing the Niger East Senatorial District of Niger State at the Nigerian 9th National Assembly has called for increase in appropriation for Ministry of Youth and Sports development
Senator Sani stated this while receiving Victorious John Utaka Academy who just won the Niger state football association league and recently went on tour of France where they played youth teams of Ligue 1 teams.
The senator said there is need to create enabling environment for sports to thrive and the current support for sports is not enough
' The government needs to increase their support for sports and I as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would make efforts to see that the ministry get the needed support from federal government'
'Nigeria is blessed with so much talents and we are not doing enough to tap into them saying not all of us can be politicians,some will be doctors and lawyers while you people have decided to be footballers and we are going to give you the needed support to live your life to the fullest'
The senator went further by commending John Utaka for his support to the youth and said he is going to officially receive the boys at the national assembly after recess
'I did not plan for this because you people are not suppose to be waiting outside before I receive you but I will ensure that once we return from recess I and other senators will receive you at the National Assembly 'he concluded.
Reacting to the gesture by the honourable member, Communication and Program manager of John Utaka Football Academy Yusuf Yahaya Garba says the team will be looking forward to meet there lawmakers.
"It will be a great experience for the players to interact with the lawmakers as well as see the law making process"
John Utaka Football Academy is an academy Know for churning out quality and talented footballers some of which have represented the country at various youth levels as well as some plying their trade in leagues across the globe.
