The Senegal Football Federation (FSF) has reportedly reached an agreement with former France international Patrick Vieira to become the new head coach of the Teranga Lions, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Vieira is expected to take over the role following the departure of Mame Moussa Cissé, with the former Arsenal captain poised to begin a new chapter in his coaching career at international level.

The 50-year-old has previously managed clubs including New York City FC, Nice, Crystal Palace and Strasbourg, building a wealth of experience across Europe and Major League Soccer.

If officially confirmed, Vieira will be tasked with leading the Teranga Lions into the next phase of their international campaign, with the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers preparations among his immediate priorities.

The Senegal Football Federation is expected to make an official announcement on the appointment in the coming days.
