Sampson Adedeji
The Senegalese government has officially withdrawn its financial support for clubs participating in African interclub competitions, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Going forward, Senegalese teams competing in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup will have to finance their participation independently.
In a letter to the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), Minister of Sports Khady Diène Gaye cited a shift in priorities, stating that budgetary resources will now be exclusively allocated to supporting national teams.
