Senegal Trophy Parade: Morocco Lawyers File Complaint To FIFA Ethics Committee

The Morocco Bar Association has officially moved against Senegal over its planned trophy parade, lodging a formal complaint with the FIFA Ethics Committee, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports, the Moroccan legal body has appointed a Justice Commissioner to monitor and document proceedings during the Senegal vs Peru fixture at the Stade de France on Saturday. 

The commissioner is tasked with recording key details, including the identity of organisers, branding elements, and the public display of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy during the celebration.

The move is part of a broader effort to build evidence for submission to FIFA, with Morocco alleging that the Senegalese Football Federation has violated provisions of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. Specifically, the complaint cites Article 15, describing the planned celebration as an act of defiance following a decision by the CAF Appeal Jury to revoke the title.

Moroccan authorities argue that proceeding with a public parade under such circumstances constitutes a breach of the FIFA Code of Ethics, labeling it as disrespectful conduct that undermines the authority of international football governing bodies.

A full verbal report is expected to be submitted after the match, with potential disciplinary implications now looming over the Senegalese federation pending FIFA’s review.
