Serie A: Ekong Fires Salernitana To A Comeback Victory Over Udinese

By Sampson Adedeji

Nigeria's Super Eagles defender William Troost Ekong was the hero on Saturday afternoon in Salernitana's 3-2 win over Udinese, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ekong joined Salernitana during the January winter transfer window on loan from the English championship side Watford FC.

Udinese raced to a 2-goal lead in the first half through Zegeelaar and Ilija Nestorovski before Grigos Kastanos reduced the tally just before the break.

Antonio Candreva’s levelled the game midway into the second half before Ekong netted the winning goal with the last kick of the game.

Ekong is expected to return to his parent club Watford at the end of the season except if the Italian side activates the buying options.
