Newly promoted Italian Serie A side Cremonese continued its quest to maintain its status in the elite division as they secured another valuable away point on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria International David Okereke was at the centre of action as Cremo played out a 2-2 draw against Salernitana.

Polish International Piatek opened the scoring for the host in the 3rd minute but Okereke quickly reacted as he equalised in the 12th minute.

Coulibaly restored Salernitana's lead in the 38th minute as they maintained their lead going into half-time.

The away side returned for the second half as the better side as they continued to press for the equalizer.

Okereke was replaced in the 76th minute by Ciofani and Salernitana had a goal disallowed and missed a penalty in the keenly contested encounter.

The equaliser finally arrived in the 90th minute through a substitute Ciofani as Cremonese secure a point away from home.
