Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, continued their impressive run of form with a dominant 5-0 victory over Nazareth Angels on Friday at the FIFA Goal Project pitch in Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

This marks the second time this month the Flamingos have defeated the same opposition by the same scoreline, underscoring their attacking prowess and defensive solidity ahead of the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Goal scorers included:

Queen Joseph (3’, 20’), Praise Agba (33’), Mariam Yahaya (75’), Chisom Nwachukwu (83’).

The win extends Nigeria’s unbeaten streak in international friendlies to seven matches, during which they have scored 22 goals and conceded none, maintaining a perfect defensive record with seven clean sheets.

The Flamingos are scheduled to play another preparatory friendly this Sunday as they continue fine-tuning their squad for the World Cup.

The 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 8, featuring 24 teams from six continents competing across four venues in two cities.

North Korea enters the tournament as defending champions, having secured a record third title in 2024.

Africa will be represented by five teams, including host nation Morocco, at this year’s edition of FIFA’s premier grassroots women’s football competition.
