Sevilla Leave Super Eagles Winger Ejuke Out as Summer Exit Nears

Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke has been excluded from Sevilla's pre-season friendly matches as the La Liga club looks to facilitate his departure before the close of the summer transfer window, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, the Nigerian international has continued to train with Sevilla's first-team squad but has not featured in any of the club's pre-season fixtures, with the decision aimed at accelerating his expected exit.

Ejuke has one year remaining on his current contract, leaving Sevilla eager to secure a transfer fee this summer rather than risk losing him as a free agent when his deal expires.

The 28-year-old has attracted interest from clubs in Major League Soccer (MLS), Belgium and the Gulf region, including teams in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Ejuke joined Sevilla on a free transfer in the summer of 2024 following the expiration of his contract with Russian Premier League outfit CSKA Moscow.

In his debut season at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, the former Hertha Berlin winger made 27 appearances across all competitions, registering one goal and one assist.

Meanwhile, fellow Nigerian forward Akor Adams has already departed Sevilla, completing a transfer to newly promoted Serie A side Venezia as the Spanish club continues to reshape its squad ahead of the new campaign.
