Sevilla Sporting Director Explains Why Akor Adams Was Signed

Sevilla's Sporting Director, Victor Orta, has shared the reasoning behind the club's decision to sign Nigerian forward Akor Adams, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Adams, previously with Montpellier, joined the Spanish La Liga club on a four-year deal this past Monday. Orta explained that the player's qualities were the primary factor in their decision to bring him to Sevilla.

“We’ve been tracking him for quite some time, especially during his spell in Norway and his early days at Montpellier, where he posted impressive numbers,” Orta said in an interview with the club’s official website.

“Due to certain circumstances, his performance might not have reached that same level recently, but once we knew he was available on the market, we acted swiftly. We believe his physicality, speed, ability to play both ways, and aggressiveness align well with the club's current needs,” Orta continued.

“He’s a well-rounded striker who has already proven himself in a top league, the French Ligue 1, a highly competitive environment with tight marking and intense physicality. We believe he can bring a lot to the team with these attributes,” he added.
