New Sevilla head coach Joaquin Caparros has thrown his support behind Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke, tipping him to play a key role in the team moving forward, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Caparros stepped into the managerial role at the Andalusian club following the dismissal of Garcia Pimienta.
Ejuke joined Sevilla on a free transfer last summer after parting ways with CSKA Moscow.
The 27-year-old endured a challenging start to life in LaLiga, missing several months due to a hamstring injury.
So far this season, Ejuke has scored twice and provided one assist in 22 league appearances. Despite the slow start, Caparros remains confident in Ejuke’s potential.
“He has quality,” Caparros told Futbol Fantasy.
“Earlier in the season, when he played, he was a decisive player. I’ve seen him change games for us. He has the full backing of me and the coaching staff—we believe in him.”
