Sheffield United are the latest side to target Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka, BSNSports,comng has sourced on Daily Mail.

Sheffield United are hopeful of pushing up the Championship table over the second half of the season. 

Having recovered from a dismal start since Chris Wilder‘s return, SUFC are five points above the bottom three in 17th.

The Blades’ chances of pushing towards the play-off fight are very slim. Nonetheless, new additions in the winter transfer window are needed, regardless, as they look for an improved 2026.

The midfield has been a department of scrutiny at Bramall Lane this season, and a new name has been linked with the Steel City club.

The Daily Mail reports that Sheffield United are the latest side to set its sights on a potential deal for Onyeka.

Brentford man Onyeka is back from the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, and is expected to move on having dropped down the pecking order.

Championship rivals Birmingham City and Coventry City have already been linked with the Bees open to a loan-to-buy or straight permanent deal.

Owing to both form and injuries, Sheffield United have not been able to lock down their favoured midfield partnership this season.

Oliver Arblaster has made his return, while Sydie Peck and Tom Davies are back in the fold, too.

Onyeka has the experience and pedigree to leave such issues in the past. It would be intriguing to see who he was partnered with, but as a Nigerian regular with Premier League past, the 28-year-old could be a real asset in the Championship.
