Super Eagles midfielder, Shehu Abdullahi has bagged an award as the Best Sports Philanthropist for his giant strides in the development of young people in Sokoto State, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Abdullahi, who was part of the Super Eagles team that finished third in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, also has the Shehu Foundation aimed at empowering young people in society.

Receiving the award, an elated Abdullahi said: "I feel honored to receive the Pandora Award for the Best Sports Philanthropist. This accolade recognizes my commitment and dedication to improving lives and creating opportunities for the grassroots."

Recall that in 2019, the Nigeria international opened a football academy in his hometown in Sokoto state to discover and groom talented young footballers hoping to emulate Abdullahi himself.

Abdullahi began his professional career with Plateau United and has gone on to feature for Kano Pillars, Qadsia, Uniao da Madeira, Anorthosis Famagusta, Bursaspor, Omonia, and Levski Sofia.
