Shehu Abdullahi inspires his team to a remarkable 2-0 away League Cup victory

Super Eagles of Nigeria star Abdullahi Shehu was fantastic for Omonia Nikosia football club on Tuesday, as they defeated Anorthosis FC 2-0 in the first leg of the semi-final of the Cyprus Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.



The former Bursaspor football club defender was given another starting role by coach Neil Lennon and he was able to help Brazilian goalkeeper Fabiano kept a clean sheet.


The 29 years old started in his team's defence line alongside Adam Lang and Jan Lecjacks and the trio were superb in the game.


The visitors took the lead through Cyprus national team star Fotis Papoulis in the 11th minutes and Loizos Loizou doubled the lead in the 36th minutes to end the first half 2-0.


Both teams efforts to score in the second half of the game were not successful, as the match ended 2-0 in favour of the away team.


Abdullahi Shehu was fantastic in the away team's defence line in the entertaining encounter, and he was able to play a crucial role in his team's victory.


The victory over Anorthosis FC has now given Omonia Nikosia football club an advantage ahead of the return leg of the semi-final of the Cyprus League Cup.
