Shock And Grief As Auto Crash Claims Life of Another Nigerian Defender

Wikki Tourists FC has announced the death of its defender, Kabiru Mohammed, following a fatal road accident along the Zaria–Gusau highway, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigeria National League club confirmed the tragic incident in a statement released on its official Facebook page on Thursday.
“The club is deeply saddened to announce the tragic death of Mohammed following a fatal accident along the Zaria–Gusau road,” the statement read.
Mohammed joined Wikki Tourists from Lobi Stars FC during the ongoing 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season and quickly established himself as a key figure in the team’s defensive line.
The club described the late defender as a disciplined and dedicated professional whose passion and commitment earned him the admiration of teammates, coaches and supporters.
According to the statement, Mohammed made his final appearance for the club during the President Federation Cup clash against Jigawa Golden Stars Junior Team at the Nasarawa Stadium, Kofar Doka, Zaria, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
“The Management, Technical Crew, Players and supporters of Wikki Tourists FC extend heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the entire football community over this painful loss,” the club stated.
The Bauchi State-owned side added that Mohammed’s contributions to the club and his unwavering commitment would remain unforgettable to the team and its supporters.
His death has sparked grief across the Nigerian football community, with tributes expected from clubs, players and stakeholders nationwide.
