Moses Simon, the Paris FC forward, has expressed his heartfelt thanks to his former club, FC Nantes, after receiving a special tribute during their friendly match against Paris FC on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Simon, who enjoyed a successful six-year stint with Nantes before his €7m move to Paris FC this summer, was honored by both the club and the fans at the Stade de la Beaujoire, as Paris FC triumphed 3-2.

The 29-year-old made his first return to Nantes since his departure, receiving a warm welcome with a guard of honor and loud applause from the supporters. He was also presented with a special plaque to commemorate his time at the club.

Having made two pre-season appearances with newly promoted Paris FC, Simon shared his appreciation on social media, thanking the club and fans for the warm reception.

"Thank you for the warm welcome at FC Nantes. Honoured by the tribute and grateful to play again in front of the amazing Nantes fans. It was also special to reunite with my former teammates,” Simon wrote on X.

During his time at Nantes, Simon was a pivotal player, helping the club win the 2022 Coupe de France and consistently delivering impressive performances in Ligue 1.

He originally joined Nantes on loan from Levante in 2019 before making the move permanent the following year. Over the course of 201 appearances for Les Canaris, Simon scored 37 goals and provided 42 assists.

He became a fan favorite at the Stade de la Beaujoire, playing a key role in ensuring the club's survival in Ligue 1 and contributing to their back-to-back Coupe de France final appearances in 2022 and 2023.

Simon also had a strong 2024/25 campaign, registering eight goals and 10 assists as Nantes finished 13th in Ligue 1, comfortably avoiding relegation.
