Nigerian star Philip Azango was the hero for Trencin football club on Tuesday, as he scored a last-minute winning goal in their hard-fought 4-3 home League victory over Moravce-Vrable in the Slovakia Fortuna Liga, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The former Gent football club of Belgium star was given another starting role by his coach, following his outstanding performance for the club in their last game, and he was able to continue his excellent display against their opponent.
Azango started in the home team's attack alongside Serbian star Njegos Kupusovic and Adam Tucny and the Nigerian star was able to outshine his mates in the game.
Dominik Holly opened scoring for the home team in the 11th minutes and Samuel Lavrincik doubled the lead in the 27th minutes, before Nigerian Taofiq Jubril scored a goal for the away team in the 36th minutes to end the first half 2-1.
The visitors equalized through Jozef Menich in the 51th minutes, and Philip Azango put his team ahead in the 59th minutes. Tomas Dubek netted an equalizer for the away team in the 75th minutes before Nigerian Philip Azango scored the winning goal in the 90+4 minutes to end the match 4-3.
The 24 years old was exceptional for the home team throughout the whole duration of the game, and he was able to mark his excellent performance with a brace.
The victory over Moravce-Vrable FC has now taken Trencin football club to the 7th spot of the Slovekia Fortuna Liga table with 41 points from 29 matches played.
