Sor: My Heart Was Pounding After Goal Against Zulte

Ibraheem Lateef Ayodele

Yira Sor has admitted that his heart was pounding after he opened his goal account for KRC Genk in the Jupiler Pro League lone-goal victory against Zulte Waregem, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The Nigerian scored the match-winner while making his first start at the Cegeka Arena last weekend.

Sor, 36 Lion of Lagos product who joined Genk in the winter transfer window from Slavia Prague, made the starting line-up as a right winger for the first time following the suspension of Ghana Black Stars Joseph Paintsil.

After 10 minutes, Sor immediately showed his qualities when he rattled the net after his effort from outside the box hit the crossbar and found the goal.

Speaking to Sporza after the game: "I was very happy. This is a great family and a great team, and I immediately scored the winning goal on my first start for the team.

"My heart was pounding all through the game, until the last minutes. Respect for Zulte Waregem, because they played very well," as he also praised the opponent.
