South Africa Business Mogul Arrive In Nigeria To Develop Rugby

South African business mogul, Thabo Kubu has partnered with Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) to inject funds and develop the game in the country, BSNSports.com.ng can report. 

The partnership was concluded on Wednesday after the delegation from South Africa inspected the facilities inside Package B of Moshood Abiola Stadium before settling down with Board of the federation in a meeting.

Speaking before his meeting with journalists, Thabo said "Rugby is real in Nigeria except there have been challenges that necessitate a partnership to enhance what is already there and we are very grateful that the federation invited us to work with each other so we can see how we can develop and promote and bring the commercialisation of the fund diggers and all of that.

"One of the biggest challenge is funding, government has contributed a lot but private sector must help in getting that will act in terms of working with civil society with the federation and government to see to the sustainance of the game.

To partner in a number of there are MOUs on the table to promote, to develop, to fund.

"We are going to bring technical expertise from south Africa and you would agree with me that in South Africa the private sector is at helms of the development of rugby though thought government play a role but the private sector is at the centre of it.

"How we can work together as Africans to promote rugby both for men and women alike sre very comfortable look, in Sports we don't compete we corporate. And when you have a team of rugby like South Africa that is the best you will want it to be competitive to the others or you will be the best on your own like football Nigeria football is tops because it has a strong competitor in South Africa, in Egypt and other countries, we must balance that and to us is to balance and make sure there is mutual growth and seemless growth and people to people relationship.

"You would know there would be problems here and there influenced by other people

South Africans are doing this against Nigeria and vice-versa.

Sports has a tenancity to create social cohesion to create all those things and we feel is necessary for us to come in and bridge the gap that if it exist."
