South-West Derby Clash With Shooting Stars, Must Win For Sunshine Stars - Duke

Sunshine Stars defensive-midfield marshal, Osimaga Duke has declared that the South-West derby clash with rivals, Shooting Stars Club of Ibadan is a must win game, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The Owena Whales will trade tackles with their neighbours in a battle of 'Stars' on Match Day 12 of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League.

Duke, who has been in an impressive form since his loan move from Akwa United, said a win over the visitors will push them up the ladder on the league table. 

He reiterated that the club is aiming for a continental ticket adding that the league is still open for teams to get their desired results and targets. 

He said: "It's a winning game and a must win game for us. We are not going to joke with the game because winning will take us to ninth or sixth position in the league table.

"The game is important for Sunshine Stars. We need the points, the management need the points and the fans need the points. Winning the match will take us out of the 13th position. We are still looking out for a continental ticket because the league is still open for everybody. 

"You can see Kano Pillars won away. One away win for Sunshine Stars will take us to fourth position. After this match we are going to Bendel Insurance and a win for us in Benin will take us to the fourth or third position in the league. We are coming all out in the game."
