Southampton have emerged as frontrunners in the race to sign Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo as the Nigeria international enters the final 12 months of his Ibrox contract, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The league’s new boys Fulham and Nottingham Forest have been linked, as have Crystal Palace by tracking Nigeria International.
A fee of £10million has been mooted as being enough for the Gers to consider selling this summer.
He scored nine goals from a staggering 57 appearances last season, also providing 10 assists. One of Aribo’s goals came in the Europa League final, where the Scottish Premiership outfit eventually lost to Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties.
During his time north of the border, Aribo has won both the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup.
Rangers fly out to the Algarve tomorrow as they step up their pre-season preparations with Aribo afforded extra time off after his international commitments with Nigeria.
