Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been ruled out of Napoli's game against Lecce on Friday, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
Luciano Spalletti gave the hint as he reflected on Napoli’s painful 4-0 loss to Milan and provided a positive update on star striker Osimhen, who did not take part in that defeat.
The Partenopei have been one of the most electric teams in Europe this season but looked out of sorts in their clash with the Rossoneri on April 2, slumping in a lethargic 2-0 loss to the defending champions.
The defeat sparked anxiety amongst Napoli fans ahead of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Milan, which take place later this month.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of Napoli’s clash with Lecce, Spalletti spoke about Osimhen’s availability against Lecce and the other games this month.
“Friday there is no chance for Osimhen, we go to the following week with the work schedule. For the following matches, there are many possibilities from a programming point of view, but you have to wait for the practical development of the work.â€
Recall Osimhen injured his right adductor and was expected to be out for 20 days.
