After a week delay, the Spanish Iberdrola finally resumed and it was a smooth return for Nigeria's Super Falcons and FC Barcelona Feminine attacker Asisat Oshoala, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The skilful forward had been ruled out of action since July due to an injury she sustained at the 2022 Women's African Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Oshoala returned to the team starting lineup on Sunday evening in their game against Villarreal.

Maria Leon netted the opening goal for the away side in the 26th minute as the half ended in their favour.

Oshoala who was lively throughout the first half capped her superlative performance with a second goal in the 48th minute.

De Rocio reduced the deficit for the home side in the 56th minute and Oshoala almost scored the third goal in the 63rd minute but her header was saved by the Villareal's goalkeeper.

The Nigeria international who won the top scorer award in the league last season was later replaced in the 66th minute before Claudio Pina made 1-3 in the 75th minute.

Lara Mata sealed the game in the 85th minute from the penalty and secured maximum points for the away side.
