Squash: 19 Nigerians In Contention As Lagos Classic Serves Off

The 2023 Lagos Squash Classic will commence on Tuesday and nothing less than 19 players will be in contention for the $18,000 events, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The championship was last held 5 years ago with Egypt’s Karim El Hammamy emerging as the winner dumping out Nigeria players.

Babatunde Ajagbe will host Nigeria's male players which include Ayomide Michael, Adegoke Onaopemipo, Femi Shedara, Kehinde Temitope, Gabriel Olufunmilayo, and Faruq Sulaimon and they will contend with European players for the $12,000 prize money in the men’s category.

In the women’s category, Titlayo Akinleye, Taiwo Ebifemi, Isaac Blessing, Modupe Faniyi, Mistura Durosinlorun, Busayo Olatunji, Rofiat Abdulazeez, Udeme James, Awawu Balogun, Favour Utukpe, Delight Temple and Idowu Ogunyemi will also compete for honors.

The championship is slated to take place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
