Star Times/NPFL: Rivers United Targets Finidi George

After departing his position as the Super Eagles coach, Finidi George is on the verge of returning to coaching in the Nigeria Premier Football League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former Enyimba International coach left his role as the Super Eagles boss following poor results recorded in the 2026 World Cup qualifier.

Rivers United management is set to appoint Finidi as the head coach of the club ahead of the new season.

The Pride of Rivers struggled towards the tail end of last season with Evans Ogenyi as the head coach.

The appointment of Finidi is expected to bring massive improvement to the team.
