Bethel Oji of Abia Warriors has hailed his players for playing to instructions against Gombe United in a Matchday 36 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, encounter, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

A brace from Obi Samson and a first league goal for second half substitute, Antoine Desouza earned Abia Warriors the maximum points at stake in the encounter played at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe.

According to him, the players were able to shake off fatigue after a poor performance in their last game against Bendel Insurance which ended in a stalemate. 

"It was a great performance from the players. I thank them for putting the instructions we gave them into action. 

"Every game has its own approach. When we played against Bendel Insurance, the pitch was very slippery because of the heavy downpour. We were able to shake off the fatigue to get the victory."

Up next for the Pride of Abia is a Matchday 37 encounter against Akwa United Football Club of Uyo, in Umuahia on the 16th of June 2024.
