StarTimes NPFL: Enyimba May Name Paul Offor As Assistant Coach
Ibrahim Lateef
Nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions Enyimba are set to improve their coaching staff by adding former Sporting Lagos manager Paul Offor to their ranks before the start of the 2024/25 season,
reports BSNSports.com.ng.
Late in the week, several sports blogs reported that Offor, who was let go by Sporting Lagos with less than 10 games left in the previous season, was rumoured to be the new head coach of the Aba Millionaires."
This meant that Yemi Olanrewaju’s future remains unknown after taking over as the interim head coach of the People’s Elephants, succeeding ex-Super Eagles coach Finidi George.
According to our source, UK-based Olawale Quadry: "The story of Sporting Lagos coach Paul Offor to Enyimba is untrue, as the club hasn't appointed Paul as Head Coach.
Enyimba's plan is for Paul to join them as an assistant. Enyimba to make an official statement very soon."
Meanwhile, two NPFL teams, including Kano Pillars are interested in Paul.
Recall Offor, 35, was present at the Enyimba Stadium last Sunday to watch the People's Elephants final game of the season against Plateau United, which they won 2-0, and picked a ticket to represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup.
