The referee department of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NRA) has descended heavily on the referee who took charge of the Shooting Stars versus Rangers International game, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Christian Pyagbara netted the only goal of the game in the 13th minute and ensured maximum points for the host.

The Flying Antelope had their moment in the game when their forward was brought in the box by Shooting Stars defender but Bashir Saidu from Sokoto State failed to award a penalty.

The body on Thursday released the referee's letter of suspension after a proper review of the incident .

Despite the outcome of the game Rangers is still on top of the table.
