The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match day 35 Oriental derby match between Enugu Rangers International Football Club and Enyimba Football Club of Aba will take place at the Cathedral - The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Stadium in Enugu State on Sunday 9th June 2024, in what is speculated to be the title decider.

Both teams are currently occupying the first and second positions respectively on the NPFL log.

Match day 35 also presents crunchy encounters as Sunshine Stars of Akure slug it out with Akwa United in Akure, this weekend as the league hit the defining moments of the 2023 / 2024 NPFL Season.

Last weekend, Enugu Rangers secured a valuable away point from Sporting Lagos and still tops the NPFL table standings with 61 points, while the Lagosians inability to secure maximum points before their fans saw them slip to the relegation Zone in 17th position with 42 points.

Remo Stars of Ikenne with 59 points will battle it out with Lobi Stars of Makurdi who are currently 5th on the log with 52 points in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

On the other hand, Sunshine Stars and Akwa United zoomed out of the drop zone following victories over Gombe United away and Heartland FC in Uyo.

The defeat also put the Naze millionaires on the brink of a lower league return, but is not yet mathematically relegated.

Enyimba football club are currently the NPFL defending champions and are still on course to retain the title if the odds favour them.
